How Link Refunds Works
Link Refunds is an investigation service. We use the help of a variety of search tools including digital technology. We locate on your behalf and organise the return of lost, unclaimed funds handed over to and held within government departments belonging to individuals, groups, organisations, or companies.
We do this by auditing government organisation's data and identifying then locating lost and unclaimed accounts. These accounts are often hidden deep within government records, and as a result, the majority of people are unaware or don’t know of their existence, or due to complexity are unaware of how to retrieve them.
It can take hours to weeks to locate, identify, contact, prepare documents and submit to make a claim. Organisations are different with their requirements associated with claims.

We tailor each claim to suit the individual, company, estate and consider requirements of each client.
To ensure we provide a fair service for our clients, we only engage our services following a signed authority to release, should we find a claim for the client and other fees are identified, the fees are set out in writing and agreed upon prior to further investigation to identify and process a claim on their behalf. Our commission is not paid to us until the client is paid their money! This means that when we search and cannot find anything, it is free/No commission, NO fee is payable to us!
These funds may come from lost, unused bank accounts, investment accounts, unused superannuation funds, unclaimed lotto wins, insurances, shares, uncollected real estate trust funds, deceased estates and belong to individuals, sole traders, partnerships, companies and Trusts.

HOW DO I GET IT BACK?

Unfortunately, the powers that be, do not make this an easy exercise. It can often take more time and effort than the money is actually worth. Some people spend YEARS trying to locate and obtain their lost funds. This is why it is usually easier to engage a refund agent to locate the lost account and organise the return of funds to you. Just as you would hire an accountant for your tax return or a lawyer to represent you in court, you should hire a refund agent to recover your money.
We liaise with relevant authorities in control of your money. We also strive to ensure that it is returned quickly and efficiently. It can be a tedious process without the right contacts and is always better to get it done correctly the first time.

Documents needed to commence with a claim can vary with the type and complexity of the type of claim. This information is sensitive information, it is kept confidential and only shared with the relevant departments, and only for the purpose of processing the individual claim.

Fees and Commission are:
Claims $500 to $1,000 where applicable the cost of Government fees/Bank fees, Legal Fees where needed for Estates/companies, plus percentage % of the claim sum as specified below:
Commission Rates:
Individuals 15%
Companies and Trusts 18%
Estates 20%
International 25%
Upon the event there are high government and search fees, or legal fees incurred, they are added on top of the commission, depending upon the claim amount.
However, this is all set out in the initial agreement authority to release.
Invoices are only forwarded to the client following confirmation from authorities that the funds have been received by the client. The invoice amount is payable within 7 days of receiving the Tax Invoice. Some payments are processed through a trust fund, in which case the fund forwards the payment to the client for the amount of the claim, less the commission, which is forwarded to Link Refunds following confirmation of the client’s receipt of funds.
The process takes approximately six to eight weeks for simple claims, however, can take up to twelve weeks, depending on the complexity of documents needed for the process.
